New Animation Installation at Animated Exeter February 2010
A site-specific animation installation by Rose Bond commissioned for Animated Exeter February 11-13, 2010
Exeter, UK.
Sited in historic Exeter Castle, the seat of Devon's Crown Court for over 200 years, Broadsided! takes a swipe at justice, class and punishment in a dramatic spectacle combining animation, innovative sound design, theatrical lighting, and multiple projections, transforming the Castle square into a cinema-lit lyceum. Rose Bond's hand drawn sequences, using the Castle windows as a stage, conjure the wood cut publications of the mid 19th century, An original sound design by composer Heather Perkins weaves the robust with the ribald to create a link between then and now.

Princess Grace Statue Award
The Princess Grace Foundation is working with Turner Classic Movies this year because it would have been Princess Grace’s 80th birthday this November. They are dedicating the entire month to her films and producing content surrounding her legacy, including the Foundation. Watch for a spot from last year’s PGF New York Gala which includes Rose accepting her Princess Grace Statue Award.
Intra Muros PDX
Originally presented during Portland's Platform International Animation Festival, in 2007.

Activating the public space as a Platform Festival street installation, Rose Bond’s Intra Muros delivers a personal and voyeuristic glimpse into an artist’s struggles with creative malaise. Bond visually samples work from experimental giants Norman McLaren, Len Lye and herself as Judith Gruber-Stitzer’s soundtrack ranges from contemplative to cacophonous.
Intra Muros at the Holland Animation Film Festival
November 5-9, 2008
Utrechts Stadhuis, Utrecht Holland
Viewed from the public square in central Utrecht, Rose Bond’s Intra Muros was restaged by invitation in the windows of Utrecht’s Stadhuis (City Hall) during the 2008 Holland Animation Film Festival.
"...Sharing a lot of features with the artist… the projection sweeps passers-by along into 'the intimate world of time.' Canadian composer Judith Gruber-Stitzer provides the creation with a robust soundtrack."
